Karen ~ Embarking on a New Life
My husband and I are both artists who had lived and worked in NYC for 36 years. We had been fortunate enough to have had successful art careers there, but situations around us in Brooklyn had changed and we decided it was time to sell and move elsewhere. After exhaustive searching, we remembered the time we stopped for lunch at an exit off Rt. 78, on a trip across PA, ending up in a charming town called Easton. At the time, I commented that I could see myself living there. We checked online real estate listings and found something interesting. We fell in love with the town and bought an old empty former business school, which was the perfect studio/gallery space and an almost 50 year old health food store, Natures Way Market. I suddenly found myself embarking on a challenging new life, not having a retail background, but along the way getting to meet the warm and friendly people of Easton. It’s been almost 8 years and we have never looked back.
