Brooks ~ From the Coast Guard to the Creamery
I grew up a Wilson kid in the 60s, but my Dad worked his entire life in the Alpha building overlooking the circle. He also worked part time at Farrs Shoes, which was where the Crayola cafeteria is. I was named after Brooks Betts, who owned Grube and Betts Sporting Goods, which was on 3rd where the parking garage was. I left for college in 79, served in the Coast Guard from 84-2005, and moved back in 2015 to purchase and run Bank Street Creamery. I love my job and my city.
